I'm starting to notice a subtle asymmetry that gives your work action and expression. I can easily see scowl on this guy's face by the shape. You even put a scar or age line on his left side where the chin meets the lip - props for giving him character. His left eyebrow seems kind of globby with the shading, but I still like it because it's part of what makes the aforementioned asymmetry work. I was going to say something about the black bg, but it's a speed painting so it does the job well actually by making contrast with dude's complexion.
